The Ultimate Jacket Display Initially created for "The Interventionists" exhibition at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA 2004/05), the Ultimate Jacket Display is a form of bizarre cultural taxidermy highlighting the Ultimate Jacket, and the potential for self-sited action adventure. As visitors approach, the life-size action figure springs to life and begins rotating on a revolving manhole cover while the lights behind the storefront window flicker on, and the trashed tv begins to channel surf between found footage and an Ultimate Jacket infomercial. The auto-mated multimedia installation at once references the display tactics of popular fashion, martial arts supply, museum exhibits, army & navy surplus, and a stage set for an anarchistic Sesame Street - glitzy, edgy, hokey, grimy, and amusing.
